Preparing for Semi-Permanent Brow Tattoo
Congratulations, you've decided to take the plunge into semi-permanent makeup for your eyebrows! I've put together everything you need to know to be prepared for your appointment.
30 Days before your appointment:
- Refrain from botox or fillers in the forehead area
- Discontinue sun exposure in the area
- Avoid tweezing, shaving, & plucking your natural brows
- Refrain from chemical exfoliation near and around your eyebrows
- Keep skin well moisturized
- Review & Complete the Consent Form
- Stop taking any blood thinners
Remember that the Semi-Permanent Tattoo service may not be a healthy option if any of the following apply:
- Current Chemotherapy Treatments
- Pregnant or nursing
- Taking Accutane Medication
- Recent Facelifts or other invasive facial surgeries or treatments
- You currently have a highly saturated tattoo in the area
- Any disease that affects your healing process (Lupus, psoriasis, HIV)
Come to your appointment with these things in mind:
- The service can take up to 4 hours to complete
- Numbing agents will be used to help with pain management
- The tattoo color will be more intense for the first 4 days
- You will not be able to get your tattoo wet for 4 days
I'd suggest wearing something comfortable and bringing headphones with your favorite audiobook or music to listen to, so you stay entertained. Definitely eat before your appointment because it can take up to 4 hours to complete. Bring photos of what you have in mind for us to discuss style options.
Aftercare Instructions
The Nano brow technique was used with LI pigments to complete your beautiful brows. Nano brows are a cosmetic tattoo which uses a tattoo needle to create multiple tiny dots that form hair like strokes throughout the brow. I've chosen to use the nano brow technique because it creates less trauma than microblading to the skin and can giving greater results for more skin types.
LI pigments used are both an inorganic and organic blend that use the highest quality ingredients. This pigment will gradually fade away instead of gradually changing color. This allows us to change the shape and style of your brows over time.
After your procedure a dry healing protocol will take place. Do not get the brows wet for 3 full days. On day 4 you may cleanse gently using a soft shadow brush and an antibacterial cleanser. Be sure to take careful care not to peel or scrub off any of the semi-permanent makeup. After cleansing you will apply a thin layer of the provided A & D ointment to keep the area moisturized and protected. Continue ointment for 5 days.
While your skin is healing over the next 14 days avoid the following:
- Tanning
- Swimming, saunas, jacuzzi
- Steam
- Massages
- Excessive Sweating
- Wearing Makeup
- Chemical exfoliation creams and cleansers
- Touching the tattooed area
Some things you can expect:
- The color is darker the first 4 days after the treatment
- Light scabbing and peeling (Try not to pick at this)
- Color will fade significantly while skin resurfaces
- Color can start to reappear slowly
